Hi Gloria
Thank you very much for being so helpful with organizing our move. We appreciate your patients. All of the other staffs we have been working with during our transition has been extremely helpful. Our 18 boxes got picked up by an extremely patient and friendly driver. We did not get our 30min phone call so we were not prepared at the curbside when the driver arrived. Thankfully the weather was good to us and so was our driver. He helped us with our boxes and waited patiently. Please pass our appreciation to everyone who’s helped us, even the driver.
I have a copy of the dispatch paper which I will fax to you Monday. We will stay in contact and will definitly let you know when our move arrives in Australia.
Otherwise have a great weekend!
Thank you.
Katherine
Some advice if you don’t want surprises when shipping your household goods overseas…
Avoid Overflow.
If you deliver a shipment greater than what you were quoted for, you will have additional charges for overflow. Your final costs of shipping your household goods will be according to the volume of the shipment you delivered, not the one on your quote or your order.
Your quote is provided based on the volume advised by you. Even if an on site estimate was done by your shipping company; if you deliver a higher volume than stated in the on site estimate, you will be charged an additional fee for the overflow.
For example: If your quote is for 200 CFT, but you delivered a shipment of 320 CFT, you will have an additional charge for an overflow of 320-200=120 CFT.
Order a Full Packing Service.
Full Packing Service includes Box Packing and Furniture Wrapping. Fair International Movers will charge you based on the total volume, not per Box, and their charge will be very reasonable. You will save time and money by allowing your International Mover to do the packing for you.
Another important thing to consider, if you wish to take Marine Insurance, unless you ordered a Full Packing Service your shipment can only be insured against loss.
If your shipment arrives for consolidation and it is not properly packed, it may be re-packed before loading and you may be charged as per your contract.
Know the Customs Regulations.
You must know the Customs Regulations that apply to you; such regulations will depend on your specific status and visa.
Customs Regulations can change at any time and it is solely your responsibility, not your International Mover’s, to know and comply with all the requirements.
If your International Mover or its agents provide you with any information, it is only a guide. You must still contact the embassy of your destination country and get the updated Customs Regulations.
Keep your contact email until your move is completed.
Most communication is done via email; don’t make the mistake of cancelling your email address before your move is completed; you must maintain the same email address used for your quote and contract.
Check your email frequently. You will receive emails regarding your shipment from various agents employed by your International Mover.
Pay your Bills.
Your shipment must move swiftly from the Origin Agent that picked up your shipment, to the consolidation warehouse for loading into the consolidation container, to the Ship Line, and to your Destination Agent, etc.
When shipping overseas, payment in most cases is due upon receiving your bill. Your shipment will not sail if your account is not cleared.
Most International Movers will require the contract amount to be paid in full prior to pick up; if you incur additional charges they must be paid upon receiving a statement.
Your shipment will not be moved to the next stage unless your account is cleared. You can dispute any charge and a fair International Mover will attend to your claim efficiently, but don’t make the mistake of holding back payment, as your shipment will be put on hold and this may incur additional charges. Such charges may not be waived even if your claim was found to be justified.
Follow these five simple rules and your International Mover’s instructions and you are on your way to a successful hassle free move overseas.
How to choose International Movers when Shipping to Australia
You must find a reliable international mover when moving to Australia and shipping your household goods from the USA to Australia.
When making your choice on which international mover to use, don’t make it based on cost only, other issues are also very important
You must consider the following:
• Is your international mover experienced in shipping household goods to Australia?
• Does your international mover have a consolidation service to Australia?
• Does your international mover have the necessary licenses for shipping overseas?
• How long has your international mover been in business?
International movers that do their own consolidation to Australia are your preferable choice.
They specialize in shipments from the USA to Australia; get your shipping quote from them.
Important points when comparing shipping quotes:
• Quotes must be for same shipment size.
• Quotes must be from the same origin to destination and for the same services.
• Quotes must be for same packing services, Pack by Owner or Pack by Carrier.
• Terminal Handling Charges in Australia should be included in the quotes
• The exclusions must be clearly stated on the quotes and should be considered when choosing your international mover
Some companies may provide a low quote for lower volume, exclude terminal handling charges in Australia have a separate charge for “documentation fees” all aimed at presenting a much lower dollar amount than what you will pay in the end.
Ask questions and learn the terminology used in the shipping trade. You must understand your shipping quotes in order to evaluate them
Most international movers have been in business for many years and your shipment will be well taken care of. Your international mover depends on you to referring your friends, family or co-workers and will do a lot to get you on their satisfied customers list.

Other people choose to become au pairs because they have a knack for caring for children.
Criteria for Au Pairing
Women and men must be over the age of 18 to become an au pair and most of these caretakers are under the age of 30.
Au pairs are hired to work no more than 25 hours per week over a five day period.
They are also usually required to babysit for two evenings.
When you become an au pair, you will usually not sign a contract because the relationship is informal.
However, some countries require contracts for work and resident visas.
You can also become a holiday au pair.
If you are a holiday au pair, you will normally work from July to September and accompany the family on their holidays.
If you accompany a family on their holidays, all of your travel and meal expenses will be covered.
The family is also required to give you spending money.
The children are out of school at this time, so you normally have to work more hours than a regular au pair.
If you are moving to Europe to become an au pair, you must obtain a work and residence permit.
The family you will be living with needs to apply for your permits at their local employment office.
Different countries have different restrictions, so work with your family to determine what paperwork needs to be filled out for your employment.
Benefits of Au Pairing
If you have always dreamed of moving overseas, becoming an au pair might be the right decision for you.
You will have the opportunity to live with a family, learn about a new culture and study a new language abroad.

It is probably best to go with an agency or a reputable online service.
You will be living in someone else’s home, so you will want to make sure you will be living in a safe environment.
If you are becoming an au pair without the help of an agency, make sure you work out the expectations with your new employer before you move overseas.
Each family and each circumstance is different, so make sure you have a concrete agreement before you move overseas.

IntlMOVE – Moving to Australia and the Blue Mountains
After moving to Australia with IntlMOVE, your international moving company, you must visit the Blue Mountains.
The Blue Mountains are famous for its rock formation— the Three Sisters.
The towering mountains get its nickname from the blue mist that surrounds the area, including the small city of Katoomba that sits at its base.
Katoomba is the most accessible of the regions towns.
The blue tint filling the sky is formed by oils released from the vast amounts of Eucalyptus plants inhabiting the mountains and surrounding valley.
When you move to Sydney, Australia with IntlMOVE, you will see that The Blue Mountains are easily reached.
The Blue Mountains are located about two hours outside the center of Sydney by car or train.
They are accessible year-round, offering plenty of activities such as rock sports, mountain biking, horseback riding and scenic routes with lookout points that provide fascinating views of the valley and distant mountains.
The Greater Blue Mountains area contains seven national parks and is home to six language groups— Wiradjuri, Gundungurra, Dharawal, Darug, Darkinjung and Wanaruah.
Three Sisters:
Jetting out the side of the Blue Mountains are ancient pillars known as the Three Sisters.
They were formed overtime by erosion eating away at the Triassic Sandstone.
As wind and rain caused the merged rocks to waste away, three separate blocks of sandstone began to appear.
Now, the three sharp columns stand 3,080 to 3,134 feet tall or 906 to 922 meters.
However, there are more than scientific explanations of how the Three Sisters formed.
Folklore names the three columns Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo after three women who met three brothers from a neighboring area.
Soon followed a Romeo and Juliet like war.
A magical man turned the women to stone, promising to free them once the war ended.
Then, the magic man died in battle leaving the three sisters captive in the rocks until this day.
The Three Sisters can be viewed 24 hours a day and are lighted from sunset to 10:30 p.m.
The rock formations can be reached through a number of routes with views across the canopy into the valley below.
The most popular place to view the Three Sisters is Echo Point.
Two viewing platforms extend out over the valley with panoramic views of the rock formations.
Echo Point is also a popular starting point for several other trials and destinations.
A path to the Giant Staircase, originally constructed in 1909, leads to a platform adjacent to the top of the Three Sisters.
The daunting, yet rewarding climb, up 900 steps offers a spectacular view peering beyond the valley and into a mixture of rainforests, canyons, caves, tall forests and waterfalls.
Other popular routes from this point are hikes along Prince Henry Cliff walk, Katoomba Falls and Scenic World.
Getting Around the Blue Mountains:
When you move to Australia with IntlMOVE and want to visit the Three Sisters, there are many ways to the beautiful formations.
Scenic World offers several adventure rides.
Its Scenic Railway is the steepest incline railway in the world.
Take the 1,411 ft descent through a cliff side tunnel downward into an ancient rainforest.
The Scenic Railway operates every 10 minutes and costs $11 per adult for a one-way ticket.
Its Scenic Cableway gives an areal view over the valley and is the steepest cable car in the Southern Hemisphere and costs$11 per adult for a one-way ticket.
Taking this ride has been described as floating on air.
This ride has a sliding glass floor that provides breathtaking views revealed through the cabin floor.
The 360 degree bird’s-eye-view takes in the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls, Mount Solitary and the Jamison Valley. Scenic world is open 365 days a year from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Blue Mountains Explorer Bus offers a ‘hop on, hop off’ service to many Katoomba attractions, including old mining stations.
It stops every 30 minutes.
The Trolley Tour makes rounds about every hour and goes about the region.
So, whether moving to Australia with IntlMOVE, or moving to the Blue Mountains, you can experience the best of its national and cultural landscapes.
The Blue Mountains offer great outdoors activities and romantic getaways that support more than 100 of the world’s Eucalypt species and more than 400 kinds of mammals, birds and reptiles.
